About Me
Hi, I’m Hayley, and this is my very handsome dog, Kobi. I rescued Kobi over four years ago who is originally from Romania. Inspired by Kobi, I founded Hayley’s Hounds to help dog owners address their dogs’ specific behavioural issues, both in and outside the home. With over 15 years of experience as a sales manager in the TV industry, I made a significant leap to leave corporate life and establish my dog behavioural business. Additionally, I volunteer as a dog walker at Foal Farm Animal Rescue, for over two years. This experience also motivated me to launch Hayley’s Hounds, especially considering the challenges faced by rescues since the pandemic.
I also work part-time at Last Chance Animal Rescue, where I care for and rehabilitate the rescue dogs in our care until they find their forever homes. This invaluable experience enables me to continuously enhance and deepen my knowledge of various dog breeds and their distinctive behavioural challenges, which I strive to address for their future families.

Training and approach
For one-on-one dog behavioural training, I first assess the issues and how your dog and the people living in your home interact to identify the specific needs of each dog, as every dog is unique. Then, we move this assessment outside the home to observe how your dog behaves on a leash, with other dogs, and any other challenges they may face outside the home. Then, I create a personalised training plan with 24/7 owner support. I’m here to provide guidance and assistance throughout the training process, including home follow-ups.
I kindly request that owners understand that positive changes take time and that consistent effort is a must for all owners and families living in the house. With the right training, support, and commitment from the owners, you can help your dog improve their behaviour and create a harmonious environment for both them and your family.
I hold a diploma in dog behavioural and practical dog training from the Canine Instructors Academy. Additionally, I have completed first aid training for dogs with Animal Aiders and am fully insured with pet business insurance.

Specialised in dogs rescued from abroad
Over the years, there’s been a notable rise in the number of dogs being rescued from abroad. However, when you bring your furry friend home from the “happy bus,” it can be a significant adjustment for both you and your dog. This transition might lead to one of the most common behaviours in these dogs: fear aggression. This can put stress on you and your family. But don’t worry, I’m here to help and support you and your new dog as they navigate this new chapter and become an integral part of your family.
Experiences
Having a dog is incredibly exciting, and having them as part of your family is wonderful. They truly appreciate this. Sometimes, after attending all the classes and reading extensively about your breed of dog, they may throw you a few curveballs. This could be due to an unexpected event that you have no control over, which can knock their confidence. Alternatively, if you have a rescue dog, their behavioural patterns may not align with your expectations, primarily because of their background. Since rescues often have limited information about their past, it’s important to remember that you’re not alone in this.
I have experience working with dogs exhibiting various behaviours and training methods to address and overcome specific issues, such as dog-on-dog aggression, biting, barking, resource guarding, and separation anxiety.
Hayley’s Hounds strives to assist and support dogs and their owners, preventing dogs from ending up in rescue shelters. There are always alternative options before owners are forced to have this heartbreaking conversation.
I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have grown up with several breeds, including Rottweilers, German shepherds, Pyrenean Mountain Dogs, and labradors.
When we first got Kobi, he was our first dog rescued from abroad, and he came with his own set of challenges. However, with time, patience, and consistency, Kobi has become the best dog for us and our family.
