About Me
I’m Hayley, and this is my very handsome fluffy dog, Kobi, who I rescued over 4 years ago from Romania. Kobi inspired me to start Hayley’s Hounds and help dog owners with their dogs with particular behaviour issues in and outside the home. A forum sales manager within TV industry for over 15 years, I took the huge step to leave corporate life and set up my dog behavioural business. My other inspiration for my business is that I volunteer in dog rescue for over 2 years at Foal Farm Animal Rescue, which I love.

Training and approach
For 1-2-1 dog behavioural training, this is all assessed within the home to identify the issues as every dog is different. Then a training plan will be put in place with 24/7 owner support, as I’m here to help every step of the way with home follow-ups. I do ask that owners understand that things don’t happen overnight; with the training, support and consistency from owners, you can get your dog in a better place for them and your family.
I have my diploma in dog behavioural and practical dog training through the Canine Instructors Academy. I also have my first aid for dogs with Animal adiders, and I am fully insured with pet business insurance.

1-2-1 Behaviourist Training
Home consultation to assess your dog in and outside the home. This a chance to look at and discuss the issues you have with your dog. So we can set you up on a training plan and get them on the right track

Dog Walking
I’ll make sure your dog stays in tip-top shape. This is an extra service that I offer. Who doesn’t like getting wet and muddy with a dog? I will also do loose lead walking and other training on the dog walk if needed and required. Please note I only walk one dog or dogs from the same household at a time; I do not do group dog walking.

Specialised in dogs rescued from abroad
Over the years, there has been a large rise in dogs being reused from abroad. However, when you get your dog home off the “happy bus”,. This can be a huge adjustment for your family and the dog, as all of them have never been in a family home before and can really struggle. Which in turn puts stress on you and your family too. Please don't worry; it’s normal for your rescue dog to react to other dogs on a walk, hiding in the home. I’m here to help and support you and your new dog to navigate being in the home and being a part of your family.
Experiences
Having a dog is so exciting, and having them as part of your family is wonderful, and they do appreciate this. Sometimes, doing all the classes and reading up all about your breed of dog, they do like to throw you a few curve balls along the way. This can be something that has happened which is out of your control to knock their confidence. Or you have a rescue, and their behavioural patterns are not what you expected, which is mostly due to their background, which with rescues you have little to no knowledge of their background from before. Trust me, you are not alone.
Volunteering in dog rescue led to my path and starting Hayley’s Hounds. Rescues are so overwhelmed with the number of dogs coming into their care each day, especially since Covid. Hayley’s Hounds aims to help and support dogs and their owners so dogs don't end up in rescue, as there is always another way before owners have to make this heartbreaking discussion.
I’ve been around and had dogs all my life. I’ve grown up with several dogs: Rottweilers, German shepherds, Pyrenean Mountain Dogs and labradors. When we first got Kobi he was our first dog rescued from abroad, and he came with his challenges. However, with time, patience and consistency, Kobi is the best for us and our family. You are more than welcome to read my blog about my journey with Kobi HERE
